Mini Textile Park

MTP Scheme

The Department of Textiles, Tamil Nadu, is at the forefront of transforming the Textile landscape in the State. With a rich heritage in textiles and a commitment to innovation, sustainability and growth, we are dedicated to creating a thriving ecosystem that propels Tamil Nadu to global prominence in the textile sector.

Strategic initiatives & Goals

The Department of Textiles has introduced the "Mini Textile Parks" Scheme, a strategic initiative with the goal of cementing Tamil Nadu's reputation as the premier textile destination in India. This visionary programme seeks to invigorate the textile industry by offering financial assistance to entrepreneurs for the establishment of cutting-edge infrastructure facilities in clusters, thus driving private investments and generating fresh employment opportunities.

To benefit from this scheme, prospective entrepreneurs shall meet certain eligibility criteria. They are required to possess a minimum land area of 2 acres and commit to the establishment of three manufacturing units within the designated area. This prerequisite ensures a critical mass of industrial activity, fostering synergy and efficiency within the textile park

Transforming Tamil Nadu into the

Textile Focal Point of India

The Department of Textiles has undertaken a series of proactive measures to promote the scheme, including stakeholder consultations and awareness campaigns. These efforts have gained substantial interest and engagement from key stakeholders in the Textile industry.

The overarching vision of this scheme is to transform Tamil Nadu into the undisputed "Textile Focal Point of India." This transformation will not only boost the state's economy but also result in a significant surge in employment opportunities, benefiting the people of Tamil Nadu and contributing to the nation's textile sector growth.

Financial Assistance & Project Components

The scheme is particularly appealing for entrepreneurs because it provides financial support up to 50% of the eligible project cost, with a maximum cap of Rs. 2.50 crore. This substantial financial backing serves as a catalyst for the rapid development of Mini Textile Parks, spurring economic growth in the region.

The eligible project components that can be netted from this subsidy encompass common infrastructure, common facilities and factory buildings geared towards production. This comprehensive approach ensures that the Textile park's infrastructure is modern, efficient and conducive to the growth of Textile manufacturing.
