Tamil Nadu Textile Parks

In Tamil Nadu, the Union Government has sanctioned seven textile parks under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks. The following four Textile parks have been fully completed and are running successfully,

Initiative on Textile Parks

During the Budget Speech for 2023-2024 the Hon’ble Finance Minister announced that “An Integrated Textile Park will be established at Salem on 119 acres of land with an approximate total project cost of Rs. 880 crore." This initiative aims to boost industrial development, generate employment opportunities, and encourage large-scale private investment. The proposed textile park will be situated in Jagir Ammapalayam village and will cover an expansive 110 acres of land, with an approximate total project cost of Rs. 881.50 crore.

Toward a Textile Hub

This initiative aligns with the broader vision of making Tamil Nadu a major textile hub in Asia. To achieve this vision, the Department of Textiles will soon release a new Integrated Textile Policy. This policy will provide essential support, eliminate bottlenecks, and facilitate the development of a strong textile value chain in the state. It will emphasize the production of technical textiles and sustainable manufacturing systems to meet global demand, all while supporting research and development initiatives in the technical textile sector.
