Tamil Nadu Co-operative Spinning Mills Federation Limited (TANSPIN), Chennai
The Tamil Nadu Co-operative Spinning Mills Ltd (TANSPIN) has been established during December 1994 to regulate the procedure of Cotton purchase for Co- operative Spinning Mills. The main objective of the federation is to purchase good quality of cotton at reasonable rates from the Co-operative societies, Federations, Cotton Corporations of India etc, functioning in India and supply the same to all Co- operative Spinning Mills of Tamil Nadu. For this purpose the Government of Tamil Nadu has invested a share capital of Rs.25.00 crore and a cotton Revolving fund of Rs.2.07 crore in TANSPIN.
The TANSPIN paid a sum of Rs.11.49 crore as Handloan for 6 Co-op Spinning Mills for purchase of cotton. The federation has earned a tentative profit of Rs.117.00 lakh during 2023-24.
Procurement of Quality Fibres
TANSPIN's primary objective is to procure or arrange for the purchase of quality ginned cotton and other man-made fibers at competitive rates to meet the needs of its member mills.
Yarn Sales
The organization also engages in the sale of yarn produced by its member mills in various domestic and export markets.
Coordination and Support
TANSPIN plays a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating the operations of affiliated spinning mills. It also assists in the establishment of new spinning mills and provides various support services to its member mills.
Enhancing Operational Efficiency
TANSPIN actively suggests measures to improve the operational efficiency of the spinning mills under its purview.
Liaison Work
The organization engages in liaison work with government bodies, financial institutions, and other agencies on behalf of its member mills.
Transportation
TANSPIN is authorized to enter into transport contracts on behalf of its member mills for the transportation of cotton and yarn.
Technical Assistance
The organization offers technical and other forms of assistance to its member mills in the selection, purchase, installation, and maintenance of plant and machinery, as well as other equipment.
