Overview
Tamil Nadu has a strong ecosystem for Textiles & Apparel. The State marks its overwhelming presence in all the industry sub-sectors, viz., Spinning, Handloom weaving, Power loom weaving, Processing Knitwear, Apparel, Gar ments and Home Textiles. Tamil Nadu is the leading Textile manufacturing hub in the Country. It accounts for 28% of total employment in the textile sector and contributes 20% total exports of readymade garments from India
Tamil Nadu is well equipped to further develop the Industry through various interventions and provide a medium to expand and create more jobs
The vision of the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is to make our State a "One trillion dollar Economy by 2030. To achieve this, the contribution of the Textile Industry in the State will be significant.
